I love a good stone to moss up against so I’ve given myself the challenge of sculpting small things from only 3 materials. And just to make it as challenging as possible for no reason, I added the rule of not using plastics (adhesives, paints, sealants, molds, etc) in the process. The following pieces are the result of letting these living things guide my hands.
The Sound Wave Side Table
A sweet little table whose legs were lathed as though they were sound waves giving birth to planets. Its solid maple legs and table top provide gravity to counterbalance a design meant to feel like all the pieces could float away from one another at any moment.
